Past
Growing awareness over the need for alternative energy solutions, in a combination with global social and environmental concerns led to the initiative to establish a cooperation between Swiss, Dutch, German and Brazilian entrepreneurs and scientists. The result of inspiring sessions was the incorporation of Vital Planet do Brasil Ltda. in 2006, followed by the international holding in Amsterdam. Vital Diesel, a new alternative enzymatic biodiesel, was the first in a series of innovations and co-operations. Following successful implementation it became evident that in order to be feasible the company had to impact the entire supply chain, making it a challenge to turn around obstacles and dependencies into opportunities and further value creation.
Present
In a continuous challenge to optimize the business, the team establishes five distinct profit units: Vital Fuels, Vital Hydro, Vital Waste, Vital Estates and Vital Trading. Further innovative technologies have filled the pipeline, while agricultural production is outsourced and land acquisitions are under negotiation with considerable potential for additional asset growth. The company is acknowledged for its efforts with commitments to organize public financial and political support, while a number of projects are submitted to Vital Planet for appraisal and participation. The company further expands through investments in highly scalable ventures with leading experts in the alternative power arena based on hydropower, waste-to-energy and biomass-to-coal projects.
Future
Consolidation of the ventures and execution of the projects go hand in hand with the expansion of the management team and organizational capacity, as well as the establishment of branch offices in Africa, Europe and Asia. Vital Planet is on the move to further increase the level of professionalism and fortifying its position in view of the aim for a leading role in the field of alternative energy solutions.
