10.2008 - Vital Diesel innovations continue

Peter Lamers, managing director at Vital Industries in Campos, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, accomplished the development of a new version of the unique Vital Diesel production process allowing to build small scale units, which can be placed in containers, producing from 5.-40.000 liters/day. The system works with enzyme filled cartridges, which have to be periodically replaced. This allows Vital Fuels to sell its hardware, while making revenues with the cartridge exchange service.

Some of the additional markets opening up for expansion with the small container based units are large farms, who have feedstock and use considerable diesel fuel, as well as municipalities which need diesel fuel to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to provide an economical chance to the less fortunate by buying used cooking oils and oilseed from small cooperative farmers in the neighborhoods.
