03.2009 - Furnas (Eletrobras) signed preliminary contract

Furnas Centrais Eletricas SA, a full subsidiary of Brazilian utility giant Eletrobras, has signed a first contract with the intention to participate in Brazilian Vital Planet subsidiaries Vital Waste for the processing and recovery of energy from waste in large agglomerations. As Eletrobras is a state owned organization, this contract paves the way to a series of minority participations together with the municipalities under the lead of Vital Waste.
